The number of houses will need a school - Primary places on Grange Park are limited. The school - Woodland View - is oversubscribed; in addition to this, reception numbers exceeded places. Children next to the school did not get in. Woodland View Primary cannot do what other local primaries have done which is use “nearest to the school” as the tie breaker for reception places. This is because all children would draw from the centre of the estate and the top and bottom (near m1) would not gain places. They have had to retain distance from nearest alternative as the side of the estate near the m1 has no alternative. If these homes apply for woodland view the primary places will all go to that estate and likely only the bottom part of the estate near the m1. This would remove woodland view as serving Grange Park community. There is no capacity at Preston hedges or ccs. There are too many houses for the school infrastructure to sustain.
