Data Protection

Any representations received in response to planning applications must be made available for public inspection, in accordance with the Local Government Access to Information Act 1985. The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 covers both electronic information and manual files the Council holds.. Any comments you make will form part of the background documentation to the planning application. In accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 this Council publishes planning applications and supporting documents on the website. If you do not provide, or do not wish your name and address to appear on the website or within the case file, then your comments will be considered anonymous, and your views will not be taken into account by the planning authority. Note: when attaching files to support your comments, please do not title your files in any way that identifies the creator, such as using your own name or home address.

Pre-Application Advice and Freedom of Information Requests

All pre-application discussions will be treated in confidence although some information may need to be shared with others to process your request. If requests for information about pre-application discussions are received under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) and/ or the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR), we will contact you regarding possible disclosure.

Planning Enforcement

If you notify us of a possible breach of planning control, your details are always treated as confidential however; some information may need to be shared in order to process the request. Any anonymous reports will generally not be investigated.
